One of the most important issues in higher education is the link between teaching and research. This bond, which was initiated in Germany at the beginning of the 19th century in academic institutions and universities where science is taught, learned and produced, and has been adopted throughout the world for 200 years, has made the connection between postgraduate education, training and research stronger and ensured its continuation. Master's programs require courses and practices at the specialist level of a professional field, and thesis programs also require successful completion of a board-reviewed research. Master's degree is increasingly becoming an option for students who want to focus on practice, and it continues to be a prerequisite for receiving doctoral education.
Civil engineering, which is the art of constructing all kinds of structures such as buildings, roads, bridges and dams that make up the environment we live in, has been at the service of humanity since the beginning of civilization. Curriculum programs will be organized to give greater emphasis to socio-political and economic issues affecting civil engineering projects and equipping students with communication and teamwork skills.
It will be inevitable for our country, which is at the forefront in the construction industry worldwide, to be in a better position with engineers who have high knowledge and are experts in their fields to take part in the projects to be carried out. Another aim of the program will be to fill the faculty gap in Civil Engineering.
