About the Department
Fırat University Faculty of Technology, Department of Civil Engineering was established in 2011. There are a total of 20 faculty members in our department, including 14 faculty members and 6 research assistants. There are 6 departments in our department: Construction, Building Materials, Mechanics, Geotechnics, Transportation and Hydraulics. 8 classrooms with an approximate area of 550 m2 , 1550 m2 There is a physical space of 2100 m2including 6 laboratories.
As the Department of Civil Engineering, we aim to produce projects that provide added value under a scientific approach and a peaceful environment and to create a modern educational institution that can compete with international universities in scientific, social and cultural fields. Based on this fact, our institution, which aims to achieve world standards in terms of quality and quantity in education and research, is on its way to becoming a modern department that trains qualified manpower and contributes to its region and society in every sense.
History
The Faculty of Technology was established within our university by the decision of the Council of Ministers numbered 2009/15546 published in the Official Gazette dated 13.11.2009. The Department of Civil Engineering was opened within our faculty in 2011, and students were admitted in the 2012-2013 academic year.
Mission
First of all, considering the needs of our country, being aware of the responsibility of our profession towards science and humanity, taking into account the moral, social, cultural, environmental and economic aspects as well as the technical dimensions of the profession, adopting the principle of lifelong learning, sharing knowledge and research, producing knowledge for the benefit of society, civil engineering To realize the formation of a university integrated with industry that educates individuals equipped with the knowledge, abilities and creative thinking required to define, solve, synthesize and design problems, and lead the development of society and increase the quality of life with the understanding of national and international cooperation and solidarity.
Our goals
Our primary goals are to research the necessary mechanisms for establishing continuous education by establishing connections with the sector and to cooperate with Professional Chambers on this issue, to provide the necessary education so that our students who graduate from our department can have a say in the sector, and to increase the quality of graduates by providing postgraduate training to successful students who graduate from our department.
